Like a large, finely textured black berry, mulberries are sweet and tasty, they are very perishable and usually eaten right after picking, but large harvests can be jammed, juiced, canned or added to anything thats better with berries! they also make an excellent wine. They are jammed packed with antioxidants and minerals, they can stain your fingers and cutting boards!
Mulberries are very cold hardy, but require consistent watering while establishing. They tolerate poor soils, moderate winds and occasional droughts. Fruit forms in spring and produces through out summer and fall, and sometimes winter! They are somewhat weeping trees.
