Papaya can be eaten green or when ripened to a golden yellow. Green it can be cooked like a vegetable or shredded and used raw in coleslaw or fresh salads. Once ripe it can be eaten fresh, dried, juiced jammed or in marinades and cocktails. Pregnant women should not consume papaya. Papaya is full of betacarotene and vitamins, its help with inflammation and cleaning out the liver.
Papayas are fast growers, the Red Lady is a dwarf tree, so it will bear fruit at 5-6 ft tall, only reaching 6-7 ft. They like consistent watering and full sun.
